Elena Richardson - Amphora CeramicsIt seems only fair to go alphabetically so our first featured artist this month is Elena Richardson of Amphora Ceramics. Elena is not only a talented potter, but a musician as well. Her Piers Island connection is granddaughter to one of the original owners on Piers. The family still enjoys the island often, and as such, we are able to feature Elena’s work in PIG. Our photo displays currently available work – mugs, vases, hanging planters all range in price from $30 to $50. Please contact us for more information on any of the pieces. Grant Warrington - Kelp WeaverGrant harvests dried kelp from various beaches on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. The kelp is rehydrated to the point of flexibility and then dried again, then more woven in, at various stages. He uses primarily bull kelp and brown laminaria. Our photo displays currently available work – the smaller heart at $75, ranging up to $525 for the large bull kelp & laminaria basket which is 8 inches tall with a 13 inch diameter. Please contact us for more information on any of the pieces. We are most grateful to be shared to all your friends, or send along hints that you'd like passed to your Santa...we can do that!
Wishing you the very best this holiday season. #yyjart #artforchristmas #originalart #westcoastart #christmasshopping

It's been a long cold winter, but I'm sweeping out the PIGSTY and will be ready to reopen PIG for the season on April 13th - from 2 to 4 pm. In celebration of spring, come share some pink bubbles and enjoy the work of your fellow Piers Island Artists. Hope to see you there!
When I look at all the wonderful artwork by our talented Piers Island artists I can't help but hum...here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus! :) We do try and keep the artist pages updates with new work and prices, but if there's anything you see that strikes your fancy and you'd like more information, please contact us. We can arrange delivery before Christmas for you. PIG will be open by appointment Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. We hope to open Saturday December 23rd - but weather conditions may prevent this. A small hazard of island living with the holidays approaching.
Wishing you all the best for the holiday season and an art filled New Year! |
