I love to play with fabric and find colour and visual texture inspiring. I am primarily a quilter but also like to experiment with other fibre arts.
My bowls and Market bags are made of 100% cotton clothesline, making them strong and durable. With the bags, the clothesline has been wrapped in cotton batik fabrics, which are very tightly woven, to make the bags both pretty and functional. Both items can be machine washed in cold water using a delicate cycle; they will need to be re-shaped a bit while air-drying. Washing will soften the bags and bowls but not weaken them. I use my bags to go to the local farmers' markets and load them with produce and to book club loaded with books - they have great capacity and strength.
Piers Island has been our family gathering place for over 40 years. I am thrilled to be invited to display my work with that of our island’s talented artists and craftspeople.
