As we prepare to pack the paintings favored with red dots, we thought we'd share the show with you. Many pieces are still available, so please contact PIG if there is anything that strikes your fancy that you would like more information on. Enjoy!
We’re excited to feature a new exhibition featuring 3 talented artists who have a lovely friendship, all painting together one day a week (when possible). Each brings a unique style and their sharing of techniques has allowed them all to blossom and grow.
Lynn Pritchett brings us her Series #1 of 4 acrylic on canvas paintings, beautiful together, but each stands alone with a calming presence. Lynn at this time is a guest artist to PIG, but does live on Piers Island.
Ginny Macoun has been prolific with her watercolours, with subject matter of both floral, landscape and our local birdlife.
Charl Young's newest works in acrylic on canvas are full of energy and life, no doubt inspired by her developing garden...something else that these 3 share - a love of gardens and gardening.
We open the show today from 2-4 pm and it will continue to July 3rd. Please email if you would like to book a Zoom visit to our lovely little gallery.
Opening this weekend is a solo exhibit with works from Valerie Rolfe. We will have a wonderful selection of originals she is now ready to part with and a great selection of giclee prints on both paper and canvas.
We'd love to say Hello and we're sure you'll love to see this lovely new work from Valerie available in giclee on canvas, titled - Hello.
Valerie's show runs from May 15th to June 6th and we invite you to visit us on weekends from 2-4 pm or by appointment for a private viewing for you or your bubble and of course, Zoom, Facetime and Skype viewing are always available as well.
Masks are still a MUST at PIG with hand sanitizer on your way in.

Our new show opening tomorrow has had a few "passing whim" visits and there are red dots in place already!
Tapestry of Textiles exemplifies the unique and vast opportunities that textiles provide to the artist.
Christina van der Kamp presents a Core Samples series of Water, Wood and Soil - 15 gorgeous paintings in upcycled/recycled textiles.
Miles Lowry brings us sculpture in cast cotton, then embellished with mineral pigments. We have several Torso pieces both in full size and miniature available. Also in cast cotton from the Amphora Series are several pieces done in collaboration with Georgia Angelopoulos. Each tell a story.
David Ferguson brings us several of his works incorporating cast cotton, acrylic and mineral pigments. The texturing and vibrancy will amaze and entrance you.
Eileen Currie's textile work is also another example of the versatility of textiles. Her bags and bowls are machine stitched and use both fabric and cotton clothesline. Unfortunately, we only have one of Eileen's market bags to show you at this time.
The show opens tomorrow at 2 pm and we'll be open weekends from 2-4 pm and always by appointment, or drop by on a passing whim. We are following COVID safety rules and limiting to 3 in the gallery at a time and masks are a must. Make an appointment for your bubble and you can visit mask free.
And no masks are required for Zoom or Facetime visits.
When artists create, their heart and soul goes into their work. For upcoming Valentine's Day we asked our artists to think heart, romance and love for their show submissions. The show opens Saturday February 6th and we will be open weekends 2-4 pm until Feb 14th, or always by appointment. Appointments can be made for in person visits or Zoom/FaceTime or Skype.
We will be following our COVID safety measures, so everyone must wear masks, only 3 people in the gallery at a time and of course our lovely hand sanitizer which has a lovely fresh citrus scent.
Looking forward to seeing your eyes above the masks!

While COVID has restricted our ability to have lovely openings and showing en plein air in Coastal BC in the winter is not at all possible...but...then comes the innovation of Zoom.
This Friday December 11th at 7 pm PST will be our first foray into the Zoom Virtual Opening and our first attendees are from across North America! We're looking forward to seeing them and we can all be without masks. I do believe I might have a glass of bubbly in hand to mark the occasion.
We have new pieces arriving every day, so there will be something new each time to see. Perhaps Friday nights will become Preview Evenings! :)
We look forward to this trial run - fingers crossed technology cooperates and remember, we can Zoom you in anytime - just set up an appointment by email.

Our PIG reopening had to be pushed back to November 21st, 2020 and we are looking forward to unveiling new works from our artists. The PIGSTY will once again be tidy and lovely, festooned with treasures for the special people on your list. COVID isolation time has spurred some artists on, but has also kept some from returning to Piers and still others from finding their muse. For all artists, it has been a difficult time, as art is created to be shared. We will be sharing with you safely and ask you to wear a mask.
We remind our patrons that we are more than happy to offer private viewings for you, your family and friends whenever they might visit Piers.
We hope to see you for the opening on November 21st 2-4 pm and over the next few weeks as you look for special things for special people.

We are busy preparing for the re-opening of PIG after PIGSTY mode for the last month. Very soon we will open with our annual Presents with Presence show on Saturday November 14th. We wanted to share with you the exciting news of a new artist to Piers. Established Victoria artist Miles Lowry has become a Piers Islander and therefore we were able to invite him to show his work in PIG. And we are very excited that he accepted.
We thought we'd offer up a little sneak preview of his work for you and remind you to mark your calendars for November 14th for 2-4 pm. We will be social distancing and wearing masks because of the closer quarters. More details to follow, but for now - enjoy a peek at a few beautiful pieces of amazing work by Miles Lowry.
Mary came to PIG as one of the original 9 artists four years ago. The launch was an exciting time and Mary has continued to bring wonderful works to PIG. Mary paints with oils, but also has some limited edition giclee on canvas available as well.
As per the rules of PIG, one must own on Piers or be a direct relative who spends time on Piers. The Jordan's will be leaving Piers at the end of October, so while the weather holds...please join us this Saturday October 3rd 2-4 pm for an Exhibition and Sale featuring the work of Mary Jordan.
Our Exhibition posts will tell you when something new is coming up and tease you with a few photos.
