Patti L-L (Locke-Lewkowich) has been passionate about figurative art all her life. In fact, she recalls sketching people, especially people with pets, when she was six years old.
Patti is a life-long learner who loves exploring photography and art in various eclectic forms. She is a world traveller & loves photographing people when she travels. In recent trips to Greece, Portugal, Eastern Europe, Vietnam, Myanmar, Bali and India, Patti was intrigued with human portrayal in each country.
In her photography, Patti has been influenced by Imogen Cunningham, Edward Curtis, Richard Avendon and Annie Leibovitz & loves the use of natural light. In addition to oil & acrylic work, she has also done sketching and charcoal figurative art, and has taken various courses over the years. All of Patti’s paintings are of original photography that she has taken.
Patti has recently left her full-time employment and is looking forward to focusing on her passion for figurative photography and art. A former Winnipeger, Patti feels grateful to be living on Piers Island and finds the setting inspirational for pursuing her artistic interests.
