Our new show opening tomorrow has had a few "passing whim" visits and there are red dots in place already!
Tapestry of Textiles exemplifies the unique and vast opportunities that textiles provide to the artist. Christina van der Kamp presents a Core Samples series of Water, Wood and Soil - 15 gorgeous paintings in upcycled/recycled textiles. Miles Lowry brings us sculpture in cast cotton, then embellished with mineral pigments. We have several Torso pieces both in full size and miniature available. Also in cast cotton from the Amphora Series are several pieces done in collaboration with Georgia Angelopoulos. Each tell a story. David Ferguson brings us several of his works incorporating cast cotton, acrylic and mineral pigments. The texturing and vibrancy will amaze and entrance you. Eileen Currie's textile work is also another example of the versatility of textiles. Her bags and bowls are machine stitched and use both fabric and cotton clothesline. Unfortunately, we only have one of Eileen's market bags to show you at this time. The show opens tomorrow at 2 pm and we'll be open weekends from 2-4 pm and always by appointment, or drop by on a passing whim. We are following COVID safety rules and limiting to 3 in the gallery at a time and masks are a must. Make an appointment for your bubble and you can visit mask free. And no masks are required for Zoom or Facetime visits.
