We're taking PIG on the road to Russell Nursery for the ArtSea Fall Studio Tour!   Our artists who are also members of ArtSea will have their work on exhibit for you.  Here's a quick look at participating artists for you.  They look forward to meeting you and showing you their work.

During the first fall of the pandemic we opened Le Petite PIG, a roadside free/exchange gallery in hopes of inspiring artists young and old to create and give in exchange for a treasure from another.  It flourishes, then languishes but it's always interesting and is very much an attraction for the kids to check out anything new.

Recently a pink butterfly was placed in Le Petite and then it was taken and reappeared.  The story below was sent to Piers Island Gallery.  You can follow her adventure here.  She hopes to be taken on other adventures and that you will photograph and share her adventures with Pauline.  They will then add them to this blog post.  Feel free to add a little art of your own to her wings before you put her back for another adventure.

Our first exhibition in 2022 is one of HeART & Soul for you.  We open Sunday February 6th at 2 pm and will be open weekends from 2-4 pm for the month of February.  We invite you to join us to take in some of the new work from our artists.  We offer beautiful art to touch your soul.

Opening this weekend is a solo exhibit with works from Valerie Rolfe.  We will have a wonderful selection of originals she is now ready to part with and a great selection of giclee prints on both paper and canvas.

We'd love to say Hello and we're sure you'll love to see this lovely new work from Valerie available in giclee on canvas, titled - Hello.

Valerie's show runs from May 15th to June 6th and we invite you to visit us on weekends from 2-4 pm or by appointment for a private viewing for you or your bubble and of course, Zoom, Facetime and Skype viewing are always available as well.   

Masks are still a MUST at PIG with hand sanitizer on your way in.

While COVID has restricted our ability to have lovely openings and showing en plein air in Coastal BC in the winter is not at all possible...but...then comes the innovation of Zoom.  

This Friday December 11th at 7 pm PST will be our first foray into the Zoom Virtual Opening and our first attendees are from across North America!  We're looking forward to seeing them and we can all be without masks.  I do believe I might have a glass of bubbly in hand to mark the occasion.

We have new pieces arriving every day, so there will be something new each time to see.  Perhaps Friday nights will become Preview Evenings! :)

We look forward to this trial run - fingers crossed technology cooperates and remember, we can Zoom you in anytime - just set up an appointment by email.

Our PIG reopening had to be pushed back to November 21st, 2020 and we are looking forward to unveiling new works from our artists.  The PIGSTY will once again be tidy and lovely, festooned with treasures for the special people on your list.  COVID isolation time has spurred some artists on, but has also kept some from returning to Piers and still others from finding their muse.  For all artists, it has been a difficult time, as art is created to be shared.  We will be sharing with you safely and ask you to wear a mask.

We remind our patrons that we are more than happy to offer private viewings for you, your family and friends whenever they might visit Piers.  

​We hope to see you for the opening on November 21st 2-4 pm and over the next few weeks as you look for special things for special people.

It's been a long cold winter, but I'm sweeping out the PIGSTY and will be ready to reopen PIG for the season on April 13th - from 2 to 4 pm.  In celebration of spring, come share some pink bubbles and enjoy the work of your fellow Piers Island Artists.   Hope to see you there! 

In our fast paced, instant gratification world...the art of oils is disappearing.  The time, the detail, the layers of pigment on canvas are richly displayed in the works of Evey Gabille & Mary Jordan.  We invite you to enjoy their art.  Mary has many originals available for purchase with a sampling of giclees on canvas for her popular pieces.  Evey has given us many beautiful pieces to show you, but she's not parting with most of them, however, giclees may be ordered.

Opening night is Friday June 29th from 7-9 pm

The exhibition will continue to July 15th - the gallery will be open weekends 2-4 pm and available by appointment.  

Lone Gardner is a Piers Island artist who spends her life between Piers and Calgary, Alberta.  Her subject matter of gardens, mountains and seas all share a unique and appealing palette of colours and a painterly feel.  She paints with acrylic on canvas and all work in the show will be originals and available for purchase.

We invite you to take in Lone's work and meet the artist on Friday May 18th between 7 and 9 pm.  PIG will also be open Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm and please feel free to call for a private showing.
